Quality Assurance

Seven quality checkpoints that follow each garment from fabric to dispatch, measured against the buyer’s approved samples and specifications.

Our Approach

Quality Built In, Step by Step

Every order has its own quality reference: the approved sample, measurement chart and written specifications agreed with the buyer. Our checkpoints are designed to catch issues early, when they are easiest to correct.

Fabric Inspection

Before cutting, fabric is checked for condition and conformity with the agreed specifications.

  • Visual checks for holes, stains, slubs and other fabric faults
  • Shade and colour comparison against the approved standard
  • Width, construction and handfeel checked against the specification

Cutting Quality Control

Cut panels are checked to make sure every component matches the approved pattern.

  • Pattern accuracy and notch positions
  • Panel counts, sizes and component matching
  • Shade separation within bundles

Sewing Quality Control

Seam quality and garment construction are checked against the approved sample.

  • Stitch type, stitch density and seam strength
  • Seam alignment, puckering and open seams
  • Correct placement of labels, trims and accessories

Inline Inspection

Quality is monitored during production so that recurring issues are found and corrected while the order is still running, not after it is finished.

Final Inspection

Finished garments are checked before dispatch for appearance, workmanship, measurements, labelling and packing, according to the inspection method agreed with the buyer.

Measurement Checking

Garment measurements are compared with the approved measurement chart and agreed tolerances, size by size, to ensure consistent fit across the order.

Needle & Metal Control

Needle and metal control procedures, such as broken-needle records and metal detection where required, are applied according to the buyer’s requirements and the equipment and processes available for the order. Specific requirements should be confirmed at the order stage.

Inspection standards, sampling levels and any third-party inspection requirements are agreed with each buyer in writing. ABM International does not claim compliance with specific international standards unless supporting documentation is provided for the relevant order. Read about compliance.
